TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Whether you need your container delivered to your back yard, business, loading warehouse, or a nearby port, we can either make the delivery for you directly, or guide you in the right direction should you choose to set up transportation on your own. The right mode of transportation is important in achieving expeditious, safe, and affordable results.

When you plan to have a container delivered to your property, it is important to consider a clear path for the truck driver to deliver the unit in a safe manner. It is critical that customers consider low power lines, trees, septic tanks, sprinkler heads, ditches, etc. For example, a 40’ high cube container being delivered on a tilt truck (Landoll for example) may actually be closer to 60 feet (overall length of the rig-trailer + tractor). The driver will need access to your property from the main road and a gate wide enough to accommodate the turning radius of the rig is critical. Equally important is the fact that the container loaded on the rig may be as high as 13’ – 06” off the ground. The rig can also get stuck if the ground is too soft or flooded. We also recommend that your container is landed on a level pad made of concrete or stone (shell rock). If the customer does not have a pad, it is recommended to land the container on treated timbers or solid concrete blocks. As the container slides off the tilt bed, there is normally enough time to place timbers or blocks under the container before the driver maneuvers out from under the unit. This process requires close coordination with the driver so that the container is landed safely.

If you have purchased a container to load with cargo for export, it is often recommended that you utilize the trucking services of the shipping line that you are using for the ocean transport. In this manner, your container is picked up from the container depot and remains on the shipping line’s chassis during the cargo loading process, and all the way to the Port for export. This process will be less expensive for the customer.
